Re: Vallauris (South of France)
monsieur Henri might have ordered a set of bottles hg would be on the gin bottle and hp on the pastis bottle,,,,,,, only a suggestion
Le Vaucour, Vallauris, France.
It is possible that I am the only person in England who actually likes this stuff enough to spend money on it. This makes me feel quite special on the one hand, but on the other quite insecure. I know that if I left home for more than 9.5 hours in one go my wife would put it all in the bin and superglue the lid shut. Protestations that these are quality collectables that are yet to have their day are met by a gentle pat on the back of the hand and exhortations that I probably ought to go and lie down UNTIL I FEEL BETTER. What worries me is that she is a nurse and knows about these things...

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
This « pique fleurs » was made when Édouard ALZIARY ( 2nd son in law ) worked in the workshop.
The first « pique fleurs » were made in 1961.
I can't say if this one was made when J. GERBINO was alive.
My best fork would be 1961-1974.
In 1975 I was ruling the workshop and I didn't made this pattern of colours.

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
Jean Francois Daniel of' Daniel poterie' avenue des mimosas vallauris , contemporary(according toJC Martin)
Robert Picault Vallauris
Tea for two - pair of cups, saucers, side plates, a jug and a teapot. 3 designs. Presumably the buyer could pick & mix.
All signed RP on the base, although there seems to be two different styles of handwriting. Can I assume Picault, himself, signed the two on the right, and the rest were signed by an assistant?

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
Its unlikley that picault signed any of them.
When I visited the factory, just before it closed, I asked the director how you could tell when the pieces were made, he told me that if he looked at the signatures he could tell which of the many decorators had made it, some were still working there in 2000 who had been there in the 60s .
Picault left late 1970s I belive

I think we have seen this before - Vallauris R Picault
Hi
I'm pretty sure we have seen this RP painted mark before and it was considered not to be Vallauris Pottery?

Roger Capron Herb Storage Pot J60 - Vallauris 1950's
I love design on this little 4.5 inch earthenware herb pot
Tin glazed earthenware with milky-white glaze and scarified decoration in paraffin
I'll need to hunt down a cork stopper which will finish off the look perfectly.

Jacques Innocenti, Vallauris.
Hi,
I have a few similar matching pieces to this one, but am unsure as to origin. I acquired it as part of a job lot at auction - there were a lot of Danish / Scandinavian items there, so I'm assuming that this is Scandinavian. Looks a little like Upsala Ekeby white glaze on brown, but I really don't know. All pieces are hand signed "J-I". Any ideas?

Hi Naomi,
That was fast! I should have known - Vallauris! I wasn't thinking that way at all because of the other items that I saw at the auction.
Anyways, thanks a million for the ID!
Best regards,
Ron

This is an unusual vase with abstract decoration. The makers signature is quite indistinct, but maybe someone will recognise the style?
