Jacques Innocenti, Vallauris.
Hi,
I have a few similar matching pieces to this one, but am unsure as to origin. I acquired it as part of a job lot at auction - there were a lot of Danish / Scandinavian items there, so I'm assuming that this is Scandinavian. Looks a little like Upsala Ekeby white glaze on brown, but I really don't know. All pieces are hand signed "J-I". Any ideas?
Ron

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
Hi Naomi,
That was fast! I should have known - Vallauris! I wasn't thinking that way at all because of the other items that I saw at the auction.
Anyways, thanks a million for the ID!
Best regards,
Ron

Marie Christine Treinen
This is an unusual vase with abstract decoration. The makers signature is quite indistinct, but maybe someone will recognise the style?

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
Thanks Tenpot you have nailed it. I have now found almost identical versions of the signature in pictures of other pieces by Treinen. Thanks so much

Marie-Christine Treinen, Vallauris
Ashtray stamped S.A.P. Vallauris = Syndicat des Artisans Potiers, Vallauris. c.1950s
There are also inscribed numbers and/or name on the back, but they are unclear as it's been stamped over the top of the last word. Maybe ??? Le Vallauris?

Large Vallauris Bowl With Impressed Mark To Base
This is my third and final find yesterday, large Vallauris bowl(wash bowl/mixing bowl?), measures 45cm across with an impressed mark to the base. Can't quite read the mark. Can read Vallauris, think the bottom word is France, top word I'm not sure but looks to end in P.

That would be nice but unfortunately the Vallauris studios are far too many and the thread too complex to split it up now. I will, however, go through it and , where there is one, put the potter's names in the title of each post so they are searchable.

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
no other potteries are lumped together on one thread due to location it could be a gradual process leaving the vallauris thread as it is but forming new ones
Re: Vallauris (South of France)
anyone can start threads Paul but I'll start the 3 that I mentioned and move the existing material that relates to them
