Can anyone help identify this funny little piece? It's about 14cm tall.

Almost certainly Staffordshire 1930s/50s.
Possibly one of the giftware potteries like Weetman/Keele St/Artone etc.

Thanks DD. Further digging has proved it to be Burleigh ware. I've found other things in the range that have that same little mark along with the bigger Burleigh mark.

Good. No room for the big mark on the base. The little mark would be the decorator's.
