Famille Rose Canton Porcelain. I'd estimate mid century or later.

Two pair of vases - Modern Canton Chinese
Hello all! It's been a while since I logged in last.
The other day, I stumbled across these two fine vases on a garage sale in my hometown. I live in Sweden, and I tried to identify the mark in the bottom of the vase on my own, but with no luck!
I'm guessing they are pretty new. Probably from the late 19's, but I'm not certain. I tried to google my way around, but could not find this particular mark anywhere. I had hopes, that perhaps someone here could tell me something about it. You seem to know a great deal!
Like how old they are?
And are they chineese or japanese?
I'm just a green amateur who loves chinese porcelain and culture.
:-)
Hope you guys can help me identify them! They look beautiful in my living room

Cantonese porcelain from China. Modern copies, I'm afraid. I have an original 19thC one in the garage and although the designs are traditional, the difference is technique is very noticeable.

I imagine they weren't made to be sold together but they would/could have been sold without a sake bottle (tokkuri).

Re: Chinese famille rose - later copies
I don’t think they are kutani. The motifs are closer to Chinese Canton export porcelain, especially the cabbage leafs the immortals are sitting on

Re: Chinese famille rose - later copies
I searched endlessly on the marks sites trying to nail down any symbol
I could find, but all I could see was the one (half) of the usual kutani mark.
It's in there, maybe clearer on other cups. I'll do some more pics sonetime.

Re: Chinese famille rose - later copies
I’m not finding anything that resembles this set - the mark or the decoration - on the Kutani pages.
It’s a partial ink stamp.

I’m sure it’s Canton ware. I watched a video recently explaining the differences between four main forms of famille rose Canton wares. The fruit and flower border on yours is found on medallion etc wares

I’ve split it off from the Kutani thread because I’m pretty sure it’s Rose Medallion ware from Hong Kong

Re: Chinese famille rose - later copies
the red circle around foot rim is odd and the glass is too pristine and shiny. Not onder than second half of 20th century or maybe 21st. and from China, imo

Re: Chinese famille rose - later copies
The character you circled does mean "nine" in Japanese, as in "nine valleys=kutani", but it means something else in Chinese.

A Ha! I thought I wasn't imagining it, but of course it sent me down the wrong path.
Chinese famille rose - later copies
Strictly speaking they are too late to be true famille rose, which was from the 17thC to 1912. After that they became a mix of styles and modern glazes

Re: Chinese famille rose - later copies
From my understanding, these pieces are early PRC period & likely Jingdezhen porcelain decorated in Macau or Hong Kong
