Help Identify My Double Handle Vase - Gates Empty Help Identify My Double Handle Vase - Gates

I found this Arts & Crafts looking double handle vase recently.  It looks like it is signed in pencil Gates 533.  The Gates pottery I have found on the internet is usually a solid color and not like this vase.  Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like an early 20thC piece. The name might be the previous owner’s. Looks Northern European but as you’re in the US it might be US Art Pottery. Others will know better than me.

To me it looks like secessionist pottery and for some reason Scotland come to mind but I cant think why
