Re: Hornsea Pottery (E Yorks & Lancaster)
From the Hornsea book, though the info may be a little out of date now;
Modelled by John Clappison and Alan Luckham, 1962/3, a figure in 2 pieces, which
could be adapted into a lamp base, a plant pot, or an ash tray, by altering the top
of the head. Maybe only a dozen were produced.

John Clappison's son joined the forum years ago and provided some inside info,it's probably still on this thread somewhere

It's Hornsea, designed by Marion Campbell, the Lancaster brown clay version .
An unattractive large Hornsea bowl "Fresco" designed by Robin Pavitt

I am with you - this might be quite a rare one for not very good reasons!

Re: Hornsea Pottery (E Yorks & Lancaster)
This was produced during one of many re-incarnations of the pottery,
well after the publication of the book.
If you don't get the info in the meantime, and wait until the end of the
month, I will be at the hornsea collector's meeting, and can get the info.

Re: Hornsea Pottery (E Yorks & Lancaster)
Right, I now have the info.
It is called "Fresco", from the mid to late 1990s, and designed by Robin Pavitt.

A recent auction purchase by one lucky society member.
A one-off trial brown version of the "bust of a young girl" lamp.
There are also a few subtle differences to the finished white version.
Designed by John Clappison 1964/5,
Modelled by Alan Luckham,
Glazed by Mike Walker,
Finished by John Clappison.

Re: Hornsea Pottery (E Yorks & Lancaster)
Thanks DD. D'you think its 1950s or thereabouts? And do you know if it's normal for it not to be marked?

Re: Hornsea Pottery (E Yorks & Lancaster)
1954-1957. It may well be marked, H in a circle impressed, though not clearly.
Re: Hornsea Pottery (E Yorks & Lancaster)
Thanks, That little blob part is so glaze-filled that its raised, rather than indented, so impossible to decipher.
