Hi,

I wonder if anyone can enlighten me about this "Sevres Green" beaker. It has a mark that seems to be a monogram of "V A".

Thanks bistoboy...even to me it seems to be a rather coy attempt at using "VA" to resemble a Sevres mark. I personally thought "I should know that mark" when I picked it up. Though I knew it was *not* Sevres! I thought it might be Staffordshire stuff.

Looked at closely it seems to be the same stamp (not just the same monogram) as the one in the photo.

It's actually of a rather nice quality, but why wouldn't it be coming from China or Taiwan when they were still mass exporting ridiculously cheap hand painted, or good transfer, porcelain in the 80s ?
