"Mr Blobby" weird green cased glass vase
Anyone know what on earth this is? Most peculiar. No pontil on the base, but concentric ring marks. Empoli perhaps?

If it wasn't glass I'd mistake it for a gourd. Maybe it's from a series of glass fruits & vegetables?

Know what you mean, but I don't think so. I've seen something like it before, but can't think where.

If you want to grow your own it's a 'birdhouse bottle' gourd - http://www.everwilde.com/store/Birdhouse-Bottle-Gourd-Seeds.html

Sure. I'll just fetch it out of the greenhouse... Actually, I reckon if I shine a torch through it and twirl it around I'd get a pretty good psychedelic light show.

I think I've seen these sold as a Dartington range - I don't like them so didn't take much notice of the label/name etc. I could be wrong. But I feel sure I've seen these recently.

Interesting. Just found an old ebay photo of one of these listed as Dartington.

Latest news, Mark Hill doesn't recognise it as Dartington. Doesn't mean it isn't though, I suppose.

I think I've seen them with a Dartington Innovate label on.

Sorry but I really get the feeling that it is modern high street China import.

I agree really - but I'm pretty sure I have seen pieces like this with a Dartington label. I will do some scouring of the net. Odd that Alex has found a labelled one though .
