Looks Victorian/Edwardian in style, but, as Carolyn says, it has a recent clasp, so it's probably a reproduction piece - Past Times were doing a lot of that sort of thing before they went bust.
I don't recognise the cabochon. Is it a stone or plastic or ceramic?

Thanks Naomi, when I gave it to my wife she did say the same thing about the clasp which you and Carolyn had noticed (her mum is an antique dealer) but the cabochon is a stone that I do not know.....
