I'll be even braver and say possibly from Kyoto - it looks like a type of painted ware from that city and the clay body looks the right colour.

Hakeme describes the way the glaze is applied using a broom-like brush usually made of rice stalks and the white does look as if it might have been done that way.
Bill Marshall was very fond of hakeme glazes and he once told me that he used the brush from an old fireside companion set to apply his.

Thanks SP, will be easier to identify Hakeme pottery now.
The pictures seem quite washed out, so hard to see the brush strokes, it looks a lot nicer in person.
