What is this ??? A Maze lol

Hi there, my partner bought this.Its very heavy,but we have no idea what it is or what its for or who it is by lol 
If anybody can suggest what it could be for i would love to know.

The base is just smooth and it has a diameter of 5.75"(nearly 15cm) x 2 3/8" (6cm)high.

Try looking at Pukeberg glass, they did a lot of this cast glass.

Don't recall the maker (possibly Zwiesel Kristallglas, but don't quote me on that), but they were produced for WMF from the 1980s onwards - TK Maxx had a few in stock about 5 years ago.
