Rooke or Tremaen?? Empty Rooke or Tremaen??

Post by Calusa January 3rd 2012, 10:44 pm

I wonder if anyone can tell me if the pictured jar is by Bernard Rooke? It is about 5 inches tall and 4 inches wide, slightly flattened from the stamped design on each side. It appears unmarked. The last photo shows it next to a marked example of Rooke's work. They both appear to have been constructed in the same manner, i.e., press molded in two pieces with the halves then joined together. The clay bodies of the two pieces are quite similar.

my feeling is that it's Tremaen not Rooke, but i'd go with Ed's suggestion to email Bernard anyway.
