Crude pitcher - student piece or naive local ware? Empty Crude pitcher - student piece or naive local ware?

Hi all
Picked this up in a charity shop after much deliberation, out of curiosity as much as anything. I can't make my mind up if it's an amateurish piece of work by a student or a piece of naive work from a small country pottery serving a local market. It's got no chips or cracks. Crudely glazed and finished, with a very simple decoration. The base shows signs of age, with ingrained dirt in the clay. There appears to be an impressed mark at the top of the handle but it could just be an impression caused by the potter when the handle was attached. My leaning is towards the country pottery line of thinking, due to the fact the decoration is so naive, and though crudely finished, it is still a well made piece by an experienced hand. I'd have thought a student would have taken more care on the finish whilst producing a less well thrown jug.

I'd welcome any opinions or insights into it. Thanks
