Is this modern Corroso glass? Empty Is this modern Corroso glass?

Post by Davis Mills Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:48 pm

I got this vase in a box lot at an auction about 10 years ago. The auctioneer proclaimed it "Could be ancient glass". After the auction, he examined it more closely, and said it "Felt modern" to him. I've always been curious which was correct. Any information/opinions appreciated!

Thanks!

I don't know much about this glass but it looks like more contemporary a scavo finish to me, rather than corroso - pretty vase.

My bet is on 1970s-80s glass finished, as above, a scavo. Seguso Vetri d'Arte and Gino Cenedese, amongst others, produced a lot of it around then...
