Is This Vase Danish?
I picked this up at a flea market and the seller said it might be Danish but I'm not sure about that. The vase is a little over 14" high. Check out the photos and the mark. Thanks!

Re: Is This Vase Danish?
Maybe someone can at least tell me if the style is Danish-like?

Re: Is This Vase Danish?
I would guess it was made by a potter who was influenced by the Danish style of pottery

Why do you think it's Danish influenced but not actually Danish? Thanks.

Ok someone from another website just informed me that the mark is Japanese but didn't say anything about the maker, designer or period.

Re: Is This Vase Danish?
the reason I said 'influenced' is the base ,it just doesn't look Scandinavian

But it looks scandinavian enough, that's why you said it's Danish influenced?
Personally I think it looks quite Danish, the form, the glaze work and the fact that it's half glazed and half unglazed. I've seen so many half/half glazed swedish and danish vases.

Re: Is This Vase Danish?
yes,had the base been finished using a typical scandinavian technique I would have been less sure of it being Danish influence, the clay also seems an unusual colour

Re: Is This Vase Danish?
Personally I have my doubts about the mark being Japanese (unless there actually is a Japanese character the same as this), it looks more like a stylized monogram to me, a bit like one I've seen by Richard Bampi (not his mark).
Could be TB or BT?
