Above is the "painting" Red Site by Amanda Wallwork that is in my collection, which I thought I would share with you.

Amanda was born in London but moved down to Dorset as a child, when her father relocated his pottery business from Greenwich. Amanda remembers her father taking her to various archaeological sites and believes those visits to be the major influence upon her art.

The work above is build up of many layers of plaster and oil paint, which Amanda has then scratched into, exposing details from the layers beneath very much like an archaeological dig.

Amanda is a very well known artist in the West Country and has had numerous exhibitions there, as well as in London and St. Ives. She is so well known that her father is not known as Alan Wallwork the potter but Amanda Wallwork's father!
