Re: Knight's Pottery - Tintagel
, I just found out , Leonard Knight was a potter at Tintagel Pottery in the early days, but left to set up Knight's Tintagel a rival pottery in the village.

Re: Knight's Pottery - Tintagel
I visited the pottery in 1998, most of the output at that time was in the green/brown glaze. I bought a small vase at the time, I think my parents have it now though.

Re: Knight's Pottery - Tintagel
Leonard Knight started his own pottery in Tintagel (North Cornwall) in the late 1940s and it continued until the mid 1980s when he retired from potting to run a pub in the village.

Is this hand painted mark Tintagel?
Hello again - Small stoneware jug has ambiguous marking on the base. Is is 'pintage' or tintagel with a missing 'L' and incomplete 'T' ?
Many thanks,
Alan.

Re: Knight's Pottery - Tintagel
It's Knight's of Tintagel. A pottery started by Leonard Knight in the late 1940s after he had worked at the Tintagel Pottery. He continued up to the 1980s.

Knights of Tintagel, Cornwall
Seems the Tintagel thread in Studio Pottery is a bit of a mix of Knights and Tintagel potteries, so I'm adding this here. Maybe it could be moved into Studio Pottery.
