It could be John Mathieson, who pots up in Northampton. I have seen pots by him in this style.

In passing he is a very nice bloke too.

I was thinking that SP, I have emailed John before and yes he was very helpful , i will try him with this one , does he only do Raku these days?

I don't think so and in the past he has worked in earthenware as well as stoneware and raku. Probably even porcelain but I can't remember seeing any.

you are spot on Studio pots , got this quick reply from john, well spotted.

Hi Eddie -


Yes, it's definitely one of mine. It's made from Doble's clay, with
an ash glaze, and fired to 1300º in a gas kiln. The inside glaze, if
it's sort of greenish-grey, is a talc glaze. My stamp occasionally
gets confused with Jim Malone, but his initials are always separate,
mine are joined (from way back, long before I'd heard of Jim).
