Help needed with ID on vase
Hi All,
I wonder if somebody maybe able to help me, I'm very new to collecting pottery vases and I spotted these two in a charity shop and paid the grand some of £1.99 each. I would really love to know what they are and who made them. My partner thinks they are a load of tat and where made last week in the far east but I think they are great and that would not bother me. So please can you help.
The vases are I think stoneware. 5" high and impressed with 205 D and O I think. To be honest they do look new but I did wash a lot of dust from them!
Thank you in advance.
Bev

Thanks guys for your help, do you really think these date to 1900. Would appreciate if you could point me in the direction as to where to start researching.
Kind Regards

Re: Help needed with ID on vase
Hi,
I think around 1900 is spot on for these.
They are nice to look at and well made, I am 99.999999% sure they are not "new" ;) and would doubt it if they were made after 1920 at least.
They remind me very much of Linthorpe Pottery, google to find more on them.
Would be worth getting a valuation on them from a local antique auction house if possible.
Even if there not able to name the maker i would expect them to do alot better than your £3.98 ;)
