I bought this small (4") teabowl on impulse... love the colour and texture...

Can anyone put a date on it?

I shouldn't think the yunomi is that old. The last exhibition that he had with me was back in 2009 and, although the odd piece was unglazed on the outside, I don't recall him having feldspar (the white bits) mixed in with his stoneware at that time. This is his version of Shigaraki clay and will have been wood-fired.

Noting where the seller lives it could well have be bought from one of Phil's showroom sales and possibly in the last week or two.

Its interesting when you have a changing of the guard in one's collection. Changed collecting direction over the past year or two. Downsized on the Leach tradition somewhat. So these Phil Rogers pieces are really a bit of nostalgia for me, as they have gone!
