Re: Moffat Pottery, Gerard T. Lyons
Signature looks about right to me anyway.
Clay / glaze / throwing looks about what I'd expect for his earlier work.
Going by the date and the BSPM Book, it may have been an item he produced towards the very beginning of his pottery career, as the first pottery he run seems to have been at Spruce Bank from 1969-75? Maybe even as he was training? (BSPM is not always correct by the way)

Thanks Potty & Big Ed for your excellent comments and info. In answer to your question Big Ed the bowl measures: diameter = 30cm, height = 11cm. Thanks again for your help.

Moffat pottery vase with inscribed mark
I wondered if anyone else had a piece of Moffat pottery with an inscribed mark on the base?
My vase has: Moffat K.K. 74 13-8 74 written into the clay on the base.
I have other pieces of Moffat pottery with impressed marks but I've never seen one like this before.
