Could be. Looks like a Ruskin uranium glaze

It could be Lancastrian, but I'm inclined to go with Naomi on this one, very Ruskinesque.

Thanks one and all. I'm inclined towards dd's idea having now seen examples of the exact same shape and glaze in a google search. It's an impressive bit of ceramica and it brightens up the windowsill.

Loving those handles, but would like a little more glaze. It's as good as naked

They did produce them glazed and you also find ones like this with decorative painting by amateurs added after purchase.

Re: Brannam Ware. C. H. Brannam, Barnstaple/Barum (Devon)
I do have some old bits of Barum (somewhere!!), but they are glazed over.
I once had a flagon, Muchelney, lovely big old piece, but next to no glaze, rim and inside asides. I loved the shape, but just couldn't live with pretty much the whole piece being unglazed.
I'm more relaxed than I used to be, but used to have a real OCD issue and wouldn't display any piece until I'd washed it. Some pots didn't react well to my old habits and would sometimes be snap, crackle and popping for days later. Ill never forget an old Moorcroft I had, plain as day green studio looking piece (William tried a new range, which didn't take off), it was making noises for a good ten days before it seemed to settle.

I like Muchelney's bare toasty surfaces. They still wood fire their pots

"Toasty surfaces" , lovely choice of words, describes them well.
I must admit, had the flagon had some random drips here and there then I would probably have kept it.
