Like melting ice but who's is it?
Hi there,
Along with my little man I found this vase. It has thick walls of glass made to look like melting ice. It has a polished pontil and the amount of good age wear to the base suggests that it's been around for some time. It's in an ovoid shape and is 17.5cm tall. Does it look familiar? Thanks!
Cheers,
Mr. Roboto

Hi, could we see a larger photo of the base please?

Like melting ice base
Hi there,
Sorry about the teeny tiny photos, I'm a Mac user and my photos were too big at first. Maybe I'll get the right "Baby Bear" size this time.
Cheers,
Mr. Roboto

That's much better sizewise - many thanks.

I faintly recall seeing similar items from Sklarny Podebrady (Czech) - but don't quote me on that, as I could be way off!

You could be right with Czech Nic. Marcus' book doesn't cover this type of Czech production - does anyone have a copy of Mark's 'Hi Sklo Lo Sklo' book to hand?

Melting ice...
Hi there,
Thanks for heading me in some direction. It feels Czech to me too. I was hoping that Marcus The Man would chime in, he's definitely the go to guy for Czech glass! It is amazing how much Czech glass washes up on these far away shores.
Cheers,
Mr. Roboto

Marcus has, at the moment, only very sporadic internet access. He's also a moderator on another forum so does drop in there when he can but not with any regularity. We speak on the phone from time to time and he's got so much on his plate he doesn't really have time for more message boards which is a shame but I shall continue to bend his ear and nag him about dropping in on this board occasionally :-)
