I presume you mean the Trentham ware made by Devonshire potteries of Bovey Tracey? Brings back memories, used to sell that type of thing many yonks ago. Looks very much like it. From 1959 , when the use of the Trentham name started, they tended to use a paper label. They invariably came off over the years.

The reason I asked is that of all the examples ive seen on line non seem to have the imprinted mark thats on the hoof of this donkey

More important is the pattern number underneath. If you’re finding Trentham examples with the same number then its by the Pottery

Thats where i come unstuck I can find examples of Trentham but only a couple of the donkey niether of which have a label or even a shot of the lower half
