I am having trouble identifying the mark in this oatmeal stoneware lidded dish. Can anyone help?

Its either Laurie Short or Simon Leach

Laurie Short, no question, probably dating from 1970s-80s.  The looped top and handles are characteristic of a lot of his work at the time. This piece is unusual for having no glazework decoration of any kind, I have never seen an absolutely plain one before.
