Unusual large vase- handmade? Empty Unusual large vase- handmade?

Hi I have this really unusual piece that I have no idea about, there are no marks and I have no idea about its origin. Has anyone seen anything similar at all?

It looks like it may have been made in a 3-piece mould from the ridges on the base.
