Japanese or Navajo? Empty Japanese or Navajo?

Post by Mookie2323 October 18th 2023, 1:45 am

Hello this is a great forum learning a lot!

Recently my friend's grandmother sent him a photo of some vases and cookware.  She had a group of what appear to be red and white mid century Japanese pieces.  Sadly since she is older in age this is probably the only photo I can get.  Does anyone agree that these pieces are from 1950s Japan?
Many thanks for any insight.

They don’t look Japanese to me but I’m in the U.K. and our imports were different to the US. Without a base photo it’s difficult to know for sure

Thanks!   Yes they could be Native American also, really hard to tell.  My friend is out of state and his grandmother is not very good with the phone. I tried to compare the one piece on the right to a Japanese knock off pyrex lidded pot but that was my best guess. I also see some similarities to Ukranian vases definitely need another photo.
