Max Läuger, Germany (1864-1952)
I'm trying to identify the origin of this pottery and its marks so any help or pointers would be very welcome. I've scrolled through historic documents of marks searching the 'square' marks but seen nothing similar as yet. The pottery has been in my family since the 1950's so I'm assuming that the '98' (if that is what it is) on the base probably refers to 1896?
Many Thanks in anticipation.

This seems to be c. 1910. Though looking at the progress of his style this looks pretty early it may be perfectly possible that the "98" is for 1898.
