Wallplate or holy water bowl?
Hello, I have bought an unsual wallplate or what it may be. Unfortunally the marking was too smudgy to be easy to interpret. Measurements are ca 25 cm high and 20 cm wide and it´s quite a lump with 2,5kg! I have tried to compare with Schäffenacker stamps and similar but can not find a match. It would be nice if someone recongice the maker.

Blu tack pressed into the mark might help.

Is it a grotto?

Re: Wallplate or holy water bowl?
Grotto is not the right name I think because of the treelike imprint. Good idea to press something in the mark and try do read the imprint afterwards. Thanks for that idea, Chrille
Re: Wallplate or holy water bowl?
Leduc was intresting with his mark but I think the top row on my piece says something like : MEN ? RACKE? and the middle row something like: BIC? ?? LOC? and the bottom row possibly: FRANCE as NaomiM suggested. Thanks for trying anyway, Chrille

I can't see that mark in focus. Could you take a closer pic?

Re: Wallplate or holy water bowl?
Sorry doesn´t have any closer pic taken but with ctrl and + keys you can zoom in quite a bit without getting a smudgy picture.
