Dear Forum

A small carving of a water buffalo in what appears to be soapstone. Length 8.5cm. Weight 90g

There appears to be an incised  makers mark on base reading “YX”

Would love thoughts on age, origin etc

I’ve seen a lot of these. Some are Chinese but I think it’s a popular subject in several Asian countries. Difficult to date
