MYSTERY ART SCULPTURE CLOCK TYPEWRITER GLASTONBURY FOR GMD

I wasnt sure which category this should go in! This is an antique typewriter which has been made into a clock so a sort of sculpture?? Instead of numbers around the clock face there are letters which spell out GLASTONBURY and is typed to the bottom right FOR GMD - this is really unusually and probably unique - I have not been able to find any similar or what For GMD means - any clues at all on the artist?

Are there any clues on the clock mechanism? I suspect it was  made for a company in Glastonbury. Might be 1930s
