Rust coloured jug, from Israel Empty Rust coloured jug, from Israel

A lovely jug, it is slightly metallic (hope
it’s visible in pictures) and is signed with a spiral, the word “Israel” and some unknown symbols. Might be Hebrew? Could be tourist ware but I think it’s too well made for that. Anyone recognize any of this?Rust coloured jug, from Israel Img_5719

Probably a name in Hebrew. There were a number of potteries on the kibbutz set up in Israel, with an itinerant workforce of students making items to provide an income for their kibbutz, so might not be a known potter

The shape looks Northern European so I wouldn’t be surprised if the lead potter had been trained in one of the German or Scandinavian potteries

Yes, that is why I even considered that maybe “Israel” referred to a last name instead of location. But then the kibbutz narrative makes sense, many Northern Europeans there. The jug had a nice place in my living room with some other earth-tinted stoneware, I really like it.
