Naomi is correct. He was Canadian and was born in Vancouver in 1929 and died in 2012. In the 1960's he did pot in this country for a time after leaving St. Ives and taught at Farnham College of Art too. However he then returned to Canada and became an important name in studio pottery circles there. So it's a nice find.

That’s brilliant thank you. It’s a shame the lid is lost (pots and lids seem to be assigned to boxes entirely randomly, I have some lovely lids with no pots too )

Philip Revell (Dunbar Pottery) uses/used a very similar mark, looking like a back-to-back double R monogram. But obviously not combined with St Ives marks - see this post:
