HANDPAINTED ART POTTERY PLATE ITALIAN SCANDINAVIAN? STYLISED HORSE MARK
This is a handpainted art pottery plate with a distinctive mark to the base of a stylised horse - I can't make up my mind if this is Scandinavian or Italian - despite a nice clear mark I have been unable to identify the maker - when you try and search under Horse marks you just get Horse figurines!! Can anyone help identify this please?

I think there's a possibility that this is by Italian ceramists Quadrifoglio who were based in Florence in the 1950s.
They used a somewhat basic drawing of a flower as a mark. The one on your base somewhat resembles this, although slightly differs from other examples I've seen. But perhaps there were variations. Stylistically it seems to fit as well. Worth looking into anyway..
If not them, then I still think it's 50s/60s Italian.

I think it’s Scandinavian. That’s where I would start. Not seen the mark before. I had a similar style dish of a woman carrying fruit. I’ll see if I can find it

The Swedish plate I had is on the forum - under Tilgmans - it’s not the same but the glaze colour and body may be similar. Your plate is lovely.

Is the illustration deliberately naive?

That was very much the style in the 50s, displaying the influence of Picasso, Modigliani and others. But Italian ceramics in particular often utilised quite child-like approaches.

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions - I am not convinced it is Quadrifoglio and would say the mark is definitely a horse rather than a flower with a mane, tail and legs but appreciate the advice.
