Any information would be appreciated about this little pot.  It is 11 cms wide and 7 cms high and weighs 256 gms.  The mark is not very clear.  It has an octagonal wavy rim. Many thanks 😊Julian Rea - JR mark Cb6d6e10

I have discovered the maker of this pot from his son. The potter was James Rea and the mark is JR.

Do you know where he was based?

Not sure if this is the same monogram, but was he at Tucwmmwd Pottery with Janet and Berwyn Jones?

Julian Rea - JR mark Empty Wrong Name

Post by Janiebee November 12th 2023, 7:20 pm

Hello

In response to your query, I am afraid I realise I gave you the wrong name (I blame my age). The potter was Julian Rea (James is his son who bought the pot from me). I believe he was based in London and, having Googled his name, he is mentioned in Alan Caiger-Smith’s obituary in the Guardian, in 2020. He has since died, but the pot is back with his family.  😊
