Pretty sure they're not Tremaen. The dusky colours on the shoulders and down the side look like Carn but I don't think they're that either. Pretty steep price for unidentified pieces!

Carn was my first thought but I've never seen anything that big by them. I think the dealer was hedging their bets; a pair of Carn lampbases would command this sort of price

They look like Carn to me, in my opinion.
Check the bottom for any remnants of a mark. I had a rare early piece, many moons ago, and the mark was barely visible.
I used to be in touch with a lovely chap, cannot remember his name, this is going back many years, and he was an avid collector of Carn. He wrote a book on Carn, so very much knows his stuff. If you Google and search for books on Carn I imagine he wouldn't be difficult to trace and I know he'd help confirm, he's a good egg.
All that asides, they are blooming lovely and I'd happily give them shelf space.

My pleasure
Sorry, I thought you owned them. What price is the dealer asking for them?

395 pounds is on the label, but they usually take 10% off. Maybe the dealer will sell them separately

Mmmm, sounds a bit punchy.
Having said that, If, and it's a big if, they are Carn, then they are possibly rare as hen's teeth and possibly worth considerably more, in my opinion.
Either way, beautiful pieces.

I was by there the other day but was pushed for time. I went in Dairy House around the corner and picked up about half a dozen little pieces I thought were cheap.

Dairy House Antiques is lovely but I never have time to do both because I'm enroute to my mum's house, so I alternate between them.
