Thanks Naomi! going by the pictures in the link it's an inkwell it has a small lid with an hole it, if correct. Thanks again to all.

The initials could be the Larnaca pottery founder Ingela Symeou? She opened the pottery in 1991 with Efthymios Symeou. This pot is an oil lamp and not for ink.
