Delicate wee raku bowl, with celtic-style design
This wee raku bowl is amazingly fine and delicate. There's no mark. It was owned by my mum (potter Joan Faithfull), but I never got round to asking her about it. I think she probably bought it in the 1980s or later, in or around Edinburgh, but not 100% certain.
The design seems amazingly distinctive - anybody seen anything like it?
Thanks in advance
John

That is a really nice piece of Raku, which looks as though it was made by a very skilled Potter. Liz Raeburn comes to mind. She had a pottery in Somerset, and had several shows at the important Galerie Besson. But whether is quite her style I am not too sure. Trouble is there were very few really good Raku potters.

Elizabeth Raeburn is still there in West Pennard in Somerset and still making pots. Here's the website: www.raeburnlawrence.co.uk; full contact details there.

Cheers for this. I did wonder about trying to contact her. Even if it's not one of her's she might know other likely suspects!
