A note inside this 3" jug says mark is St Ives and dates to 1955/60. I'm not sure, can anyone help please?

I do not think it is Leach St Ives, The standard Leach mark has a Straight bar across unlike this mark. Equally they hardly ever did a mottled glaze like that in their standard ware lines.

I’ve come across this Sp or pS mark a few times but it’s still a mystery. The label is by a dealer who was fond of misattributing marks on mystery pots, so best to remove it.

Thank you both, you've confirmed my reservations about the attribution.
