This is from a large slipware lidded bread crock. It's slip decorated with the word 'bara'. The Welsh word for 'bread'.
The stamp looks like a lidded pot with the initials GCP.

Many thanks in advance!

Welsh slipware pottery, GCP mark Empty 'GCP' slipware pottery

I came across another piece by the same potter only a few weeks later in a Cardiganshire antique shop. After a little research I believe the 'G' in the stamp may stand for "Glan-y-fferi" - the Welsh name for the village of Ferryside.
