Studio pottery vase Empty Studio pottery vase

Happened upon this vase that stands approximately 14cm tall and 12cm in diameter  quite taken with the glaze but can’t for the life of me make out the signature, not even sure which way up to read it. 
Bought in Scotland and thinking it might not have ventured too far from its origins

Any input gratefully received.
