GRUNFELD might well suggest a German potter.

Might be a house/pottery name. I’m guessing with an Mk stamp it’s not the potter’s surname. Or maybe it’s by someone helping out at the pottery

There are lots of other examples of this work with the mk mark, only some have Grunfeld as well but the works are definitely all very very similar in terms of style!
