porcelain + opaline Empty porcelain + opaline

I think this was part of an oil lamp but not sure

the painting of a pastoral scene seemed really well-done and I will probably make a lamp from it, is the porcelain on top of the opaline? I do not understand its construction.

do members here know where it originated? about when it was made?
