Huge platter from who knows who or where....any guidance please?

Earlier this week I bought this huge platter. When I say huge, think dustbin lid size and you wouldn't be far off.

It is 49cm or 19 1/4" diameter and weighs a ton. Beautifully patterned on what looks to be a white clay base. The seller advertised it as "St. Ives" but when he delivered it (too risky to post) he said he bought it from someone in St. Ives....not quite the same thing!

Clearly it was made by someone who knew how to pot but alas it has no marks whatsoever....so, a long shot I know, can anyone make any suggestions as to who might have thrown this behemoth of a plate?

David Frith did big chargers like that

It's a handsome piece, but without a mark will be difficult to ID. It doesn't strike me as being by one of the well known potters or potteries.

Thank you Denby & Naomi, I guessed I was fumbling in the dark but you never know, it may ring a bell with someone or at least the distinct pattern might.
