Stig Lindberg for Boda - Stromberg

Not the most interesting vase in the world, but signed S Lindberg B99. Just wondering if the 'B' means Boda, or whether this is one of Stig's designs for Holmegaard?

Lindberg never designed for Holmegaard. Um...

You might have better luck checking out Strömbergshyttan glass (the signature reads Strömberg)

You know what? You're exactly right. It does read Strömberg - I thought it was kind of boring for Lindberg, and I've found the same vase listed elsewhere, but with the full Strömbergshyttan name marked on. As for the Holmegaard thing, I must have read it somewhere but I'm sure you're right! Job done, thanks!

Aha. So Gerda Strömberg designed for Strömbergshyttan. Probably explains the signature.

6" tall clear glass vase, very heavy with conical like form and bevelled edge to rounded square opening.
Part decipherable Kosta like signed mark and number (b952 or 3) to base rim.

It is not colourless though, it has an ice blue tint. The B in the pattern number denotes a vase.

Hello! Thanks for taking a look at my post. I can't make out the engraved mark on this piece. Does anyone else recognize it?

It reads 'Strömberg', short for Strömbergshyttan, a Swedish glassworks. The design number - E127 - means it was designed c.1942.

I think your vase was made in Sweden by Strombergshyttan and imported in to the uk by
Elfverson and co. (very interesting history)
This design goes back to the early or mid thirties.
It appears on the front of the glass associations journal volume 8.

Thanks Tim... Bang On! I found a couple of pics from an auction last year. I had thought that it may be Scandinavian and from the Art Deco period. Cheers.

I found this glass ashtray and it weighs 6lbs, so I'm guessing it's crystal? It is signed, but I cannot decipher what it says. Can anyone recognize it? Thank you!
