Silver plate sugar bowl and cream jug, pattern number 8712.
Haven’t been able to find much about ER Moore & Co of Grafton Street. There are architects plans for the building, listing ER Moore silversmiths as the occupiers, dated 1891. And a photo of Lower Sackville Street in 1914 listing it as a jewellers. Only found couple of items at auction; a clock and perfume bottle.

I have a men's 14k yellow gold solitaire diamond ring made by the same E.R. Moore and Co. I too am trying to find more information about this jeweller and the history, as well as I want to know the value of my ring. If anyone out there has more info about this jeweller it would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately very little known about the company.
Best to ask a jeweller for a valuation. They will need to check the diamond for colour, flaws and size

Your ring being 14k would have probably been made in the US and the box associated at some time, this is not uncommon, we used to hold a stock of old boxes for rings and watches which helped enormously for sales .The names found inside a box lid are invariably just retailers of jewellery and silver and not makers.

While I appreciate your reply, it is inaccurate. This ring belonged to my great, great grandfather who was in fact from Omagh, Ireland and the ring was purchase in Dublin at the jeweller named on the inside of the box.

14k is the usual gold quality used in the US .

That may be so but I can assure you this ring is Victorian and was passed down to my father, also born in omagh, and he gave he to me before he passed away. It was previously appraised in 1980 and I intend to have it appraised again. But I'd like to know more about the jeweller before I approach any appraiser. As some other people have mentioned, ER Moore and Co was in fact a jeweller located at 86 Grafton St possibly as early as 1898 and until approximately 1914.

They were a jewellers and silversmiths.,which implies they stocked jewellery as a retailer, and made silver items themselves. If they had made the ring it would have Irish assay marks

I have not been able to visually see any assay marks but I've also read that Victorian jewellery was often not marked. This practice did not begin until about 1920. It's possible there is a marking that I just can't see with my blind eyes lol.
