Amethyst Glass Candleholder(?)
Got this pretty piece the other day with no mark. Just shy of 11" tall.
I don't actually even know what it is but I'm guess it's a candleholder or for votives perhaps.
The form is so familiar to me but Im drawing a complete blank.
The glass, its thickness and curves are very similar to Per Lutken's Selandia bowl for Holmgaard.
Any feedback would be great. Thanks guys!

Not much help, but have a look at the work of Armando Jacobino for Kummela glass in Finland.
His work is usually signed, but there are always exceptions.
Good luck,
Tim

Hi Tim, thanks for your input!
I hadn't heard of him before you mentioned his name but after googling I do see one particular bowl by him called Kiulu that does resemble my piece.
His designs are definitely very nice.

Ryd glass is a strong possibility

Re: Amethyst Glass Candleholder(?)
Had a look in my reference books, Kumela also made similar pieces and in this shape so could be one of theirs

Hi there, do you have a link of the thread that ID'd this bowl as Norwegian? Two others are saying its possibly Kumela. Thanks so much!

First reply by Timo also mentioned Kumela. Denbydump thinks it's Norwegian. Getting interesting!

Re: Amethyst Glass Candleholder(?)
Magnor of Norway did make bowls in this style. Quite a few makers in this style but the shape of the OP's is consistent with Kumeladenbydump wrote:As I recall, I think it was this one.

I do see the edges being very similar on that bowl and mine. Thanks!

You know the Magnor bowls remind me so much of the Selandia bowl designed by Per Lutken for Holmgaard.
I think you are correct with this shape being closest to Kumela pieces.
Thanks so much!

Re: Amethyst Glass Candleholder(?)
Thanks Timo for the Kumela pix! They definitely look similar to each other but the differences are there too.
I thought the base on mine was also considered polished, it just has some streaks, but I guess that means it's not completely polished compared to the Kumela piece.
I do have have to say I like the design on my purple piece a bit more than the blue Kumela one, it looks and feels more freeform, handmade and organic to me.
