It's fabulous Ed! Stylistically it's saying early 1960s to me....

I understand those muted pastel glazes were used in the late 50's-early 60's

Re: Gouda Art Pottery & Delftware (Holland)
You're right Dan, the colours are typically 1950s but the boldness of the design itself makes me think it's a little later.

They Emailed back ,but if you are an ebay seller I don't think they want to know , fair enough ,I only asked for a rough date of manufacture

I must admit I get a little miffed by ebay sellers just coming on this forum to get info for their listings
So stop it Ed!

Yeah ,I know what you mean , it doesn't really bother me though ,if they want an ID to sell that's ok by me , it doesn't really apply to us on the forum as we know everything anyway

Re: Gouda Art Pottery & Delftware (Holland)
How churlish of them to refuse information to you because you're an eBayer - it's not like you were asking for a valuation. I freely hand out any information if I can to anyone who contacts me - the only things I don't do are divulge my past sales prices or valuations on other people's items but I'd happily offer a date and other information. Oh well, I think we've got a good idea of when it was made we don't need them eh!

OK Folks , I take it all back ,I have received this nice Email from Gouda design
Hello Eddie & Kath.

Decor is called 'Artistique'.
An 'invullen' (filled in) decor - basically the paint is run in and it makes the finish thicker.
Date is 1959 - 1961.
Unknown painter.
Model number 1274.
We would appreciate knowing if this information has helped you?
Regards.
Stuart.

Re: Gouda Art Pottery & Delftware (Holland)
That's great - it has helped actually because I was under the misapprehension that 'Flora' was a decor rather than a pottery - I shall go and amend the Gouda thread.

Re: Gouda Art Pottery & Delftware (Holland)
Designed by Anthoni van Gool for Koninklijk Goedewaagen in Gouda - looks to my eye to be 1960s production.
