White dotty China with horseshoe indentation

Hi there,
I am new so not sure if I am doing it right, I have acquired a lovely tea set but I don’t know the maker as there is no backstamp, there is a pattern number 9248 and an indentation mark which resembles a horseshoe and either a triangle shape or an letter A, it is white with small blue dots around the edge of the cup and the edge of the other items and all have a gilt trim, I don’t know if it is English in fact I have no idea about its origin, it would be lovely if someone could help me identify it, I just think it is so pretty and would like to know more about it
