Old willow plates stamped "CMS" in wreath w crown, possibly French? Czech?
Hello, I bought 3 of these plates today at a brocante in SW France and whilst they are clearly marked, I cannot find the maker for the life of me.
The stamp is impressed, is quite large in relation to the size of plate - it shows a laurel wreath, topped with a crown and a banner below, with the letters C M S.
Possibly the problem is you can't perform a useful search for "CMS" as it comes up with everything that includes cms as a measurement. And the pattern is an atypical willow pattern, so nothing distinctive there either - an image search just brings up every willow plate ever made.
I thought from the look of them 1940s / 50s, but they *might* be quite a bit older as I noticed they have the spur / kiln support marks. And the condition would suggest quite a bit older.
If anyone can help I'd be so grateful - I just like to know what I have!
PS - any recommendations on good books / websites for mark identification would be really welcome too.

These people might be able to help (not my area of ceramics) but as this article says
The number of factories who made then, including Spode, Minton, Rogers, Clews and Enoch Wood, runs into the hundreds and the number of patterns they produced into the thousands. At last count, members of the Transferware Collectors' Club had documented more than 9100 different designs.
It was in vogue for a vast amount of time and massively popular brining decorated plates to the masses where before everything had been hand painted.

Thank you for that :) I'm not sure I'm ready to pay the membership for the Transferware Collectors Club yet, but looking through there, I found links to https://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com
There are a lot of resources there, all free, and I have just sent an email to the man who runs the site who said he answers personally questions on identifying pottery marks.
I'll post again if I have any joy with this...
